Cellist & Mezzo Soprano
Ina Torres O’Ryan, a Maryland native, is a freelance mezzo-soprano and cellist currently studying at the University of Memphis with Prof. Mary Wilson and Dr. Kimberly Patterson. Ina was a rostered cellist with the Fargo-Moorhead Orchestra from 2019-2022 and currently performs with Delta Symphony Orchestra (Jonesboro, AR.) As a singer, Ina recently premiered the role of Tisbe in Michael Ching’s Royal Feast at Savannah VOICE Festival in August 2025. In November, Ina will perform Zita in Gianni Schicchi with The University of Memphis.
A passionate educator, Ina also maintains a private studio for voice and cello and has taught for several nonprofits in the Memphis area. While at Memphis, Ina is researching repertoire for singing cellists as part of her doctoral degree while also performing with the orchestra and opera department.
Ina received her bachelor’s degree at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota studying with mezzo soprano Dr. Holly Janz and cellist Dr. Gregory Hamilton. When Ina is not involved in music, she enjoys working with ceramics and baking with her partner.
